Quantum Alliance Community Networking Event 2026
19 November 2026
from 11:00
to 13:00
A networking event for the quantum science community, fostering exchange between alumni and current members of research centers across Germany.
Address / Location
OnlineNetworking Event for the Quantum Science Community
Connect with fellow early-career researchers in quantum science from all over Germany!
Discover what career paths await beyond academia and get first-hand insights into the job market for PhDs and Postdocs in quantum science. In short, inspiring 10-minute talks, alumni from our member institutes will share their personal stories — what it’s like to move from university research to roles in industry or government labs, the challenges they faced, and their best tips for the application process.
After the talks, join a lively panel discussion and take the chance to expand your network during our informal networking sessions. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet others shaping the future of quantum science!

Meet the speakers
| Mirko Rossini | Uni UlmMirko Rossini is a theoretical physicist working at the interface between quantum mechanics and living systems. After completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics at the University of Milan, he obtained his PhD in Theoretical Physics at Ulm University. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Complex Quantum Systems in Ulm. His research explores the role of quantum phenomena in epigenetic processes and gene regulation, alongside the development of quantum computing methods for simulation, algorithm optimisation, and machine learning. Alongside his research, Mirko is actively engaged in science communication and outreach. He regularly gives talks and workshops on quantum technologies for the general public and policymakers. He is an alumnus and panelist of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings and has collaborated with Barbascura X, one of Italy’s leading science communicators. He also holds a diploma in clarinet performance from the Conservatory of Como. |
| Sascha Heußen | neQxtSascha is a postdoc-level research scientist. His interests are in small-scale fault tolerance and near-term implementations of quantum error correction. This matters because ultra-high-fidelity qubits are needed to practically implement quantum algorithms that are actually useful and cannot be simulated on classical computers. At neQxt [nɛkst], an ion-trap quantum computing company, Sascha leads the Applied Fault Tolerance Theory team in Cologne, Germany. |
Registration will open shortly. Stay tuned!
