MCQST | Ph.D. and Postdoc positions in Quantum Computing at TUM

The positions are with the group of Robert König and are funded by the ERC project “Enhanced quantum information processing targeting the near tearm” (EQUIPTNT). The goal is to characterize the computational capabilities of near-term quantum devices by studying their potential to yield disruptive boosts in information-processing power. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the design of quantum algorithms, quantum advantage experiments, quantum fault-tolerance, device certification and classical simulation algorithms.

MCQST | Distinguished Postdoc Fellowship

One of the major goals of MCQST is to increase the number of female scientists at all career stages in the field of Quantum Science and Technology in Munich. As an incentive for proactive hiring of excellent female postdocs, MCQST is offering fellowships supporting excellent female postdoctoral researchers for one year, under the condition that the hosting group commits to funding of another year through other means. MCQST provides funding for such positions every year.

MCQST | START Fellowship

The START fellowships are intended to support young talents on their transition from postdocs to independent researchers. With a total budget of 300.000 € for a funding period of two years, the fellows have the opportunity to start their own scientific project in one of the Research Units of MCQST. The funds are flexible and may be spent in accordance with DFG rules for instrumentations, staff, consumables, travels as well as for the fellows' own salaries.

MCQST | IMPRS-QST PhD positions

The IMPRS, based in Munich, is a joint program of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the Technical University of Munich. It offers an excellent and coherent graduate program across the fields of atomic physics, quantum optics, solid-state physics, material science, quantum information theory, and quantum many-body systems. It also includes soft skills courses, industry contact, and an international and interdisciplinary environment in strong exchange with partner programs.
The IMPRS-QST is closely connected to the Cluster of Excellence Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST).

The Walther Meißner Institute of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW) is offering a PhD and a Postdoctoral researcher position on the experimental realization of quantum radar.

The positions are offered in a multidisciplinary collaboration with partners from science and industry. You will experimentally investigate novel radar paradigms in illumination type sensing based on propagating quantum microwaves. The Filipp Group at the Walther-Meissner-Institute (WMI) of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, located at the Campus Garching near Munich in Germany, is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher in experimental quantum computing with superconducting qubits.

The research is centred around multi-qubit architectures to study fundamental properties of complex quantum systems and their interaction with the environment, to investigate questions on scalability of solid-state quantum computing platforms, to identify designs that allow for interactions tailored to specific quantum algorithms and/or to improve their coherence and controllability.
