The Chair of Experimental Physics 4 at Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg (JMU), Germany, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/STS). This role is part of our research on 3rd generation 2D quantum materials, which are atomically thin monolayers grown on semiconducting or insulating substrates, designed to exhibit topological and strongly correlated electron states. We seek a highly motivated physicist or materials scientist with expertise in STM/STS and preferably a background in photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES, XPS), monolayer MBE, LEED, or AFM. The position is initially for two years, with the possibility of extension. Depending on interest and scientific progress, a habilitation opportunity may be available.
