The Chair of Experimental Physics 6 at Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg (JMU), Germany, invites applications for one PhD and one Postdoc position in Quantum Sensing with Spin Centers in Hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN). These positions are part of the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat and the ERC Advanced Grant BoNi-SENS. Our research focuses on 2D van der Waals heterostructures incorporating hBN spin defects, enabling quantum sensing of local magnetic and electric fields, temperature, and lattice strain. The project involves cw and pulsed optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) experiments at varying temperatures and magnetic fields. This work contributes to fundamental studies of 2D magnetism and spin-orbit interactions at surfaces and interfaces.
